<idPurp>The index of Landscape Development Intensity is used to estimate the potential impacts from human-dominated activities on current ecological systems. This layer is the basis for this analysis, as it was originally generated for the Tampa Bay Watershed in 2009 by rasterizing the 2007 polygon land use-land cover layer and assigning a Landscape Development Intensity index value based on the Land Use Land Cover to LDI crosswalk developed by Brown, M.T., and M.B. Vivas. 2005. Landscape Development Intensity index. Environmental Monitoring and Assessment 101:289-309. In 2013 this dataset was recreated to include all of Manatee County, including a 0.5 mile buffer of the county.</idPurp>

This layer is the basis for two additional layers used in the "Development of a Coordinated Watershed Approach For Linking Compensatory Mitigation and Tampa Bay Habitat Restoration Goals" study: LDI_Normalized_avg100m - An LDI generated from this layer by calculating the average LDI score for the 100m buffer surrounding each grid cell. Wetlands2007_LDI_avg100m - An LDI generated from this layer for each wetland by calculating the average LDI score for the 100m buffer surrounding each wetland.</suppInfo>
